Hymenoptera of the family Eulophidae, parasitoid of Bactericera cockerelli. It’s a tiny insect whose female is 1.5 mm long; it is black. The adult wasp (female) parasitizes the Paratrioza (salerillo) and also feeds on the host by preying on it. The parasitized Paratrioza (salerillo) immobilized and hardens inside a reddish brown leathery mummy, 6 days after being parasitized. The adult insect emerges after 11 days though a round hole in the anterior end (thorax) of the mummy. Two weeks after the first introduction, the first mummies can be seen in the crop.
Perfect for nightshades such as tomato, husk tomato, potato, pepper, among others.
It is used preventively in the control of Paratrioza (salerillo). It is recommended to use a high dose of release in significant infestations.
